Engagement session in Indy w/ Leah & John. Shot on Fujifilm Instax.
A few weeks ago as I talked to Leah over the phone, we were discussing that we typically offer complimentary engagement photography sessions when couples book with us for their wedding. The only problem is that Leah & John are in Cedarville, Ohio and we are in Chicago. Our solution: Indianapolis. Yes, we decided that heck, why don’t we just meet up in Indianapolis–its practically halfway and it’ll be fun. And so we did. And I’m pretty happy we did. I got pretty excited for this shoot despite the prospect of spending more time in the car than shooting. We stopped first at the Indianapolis Museum of Art where the original iconic pop sculpture ‘Love’ resides. After scoping out the location online, I felt that this would be a fun place to stop and spend time taking photographs. Honestly, its a gorgeous location and we lucked out to be there in October with the turning of the leaves. From there we headed to downtown Indianapolis. It brought back some bittersweet memories of running the Indy Mini Marathon. Why bittersweet, you ask? Sweet, because its a cool city and fun to run through. Bitter because I slept in my Jeep the night before with my buddy Joe and the 13.1 miles kicked my butt. I digress. We took some beautiful photographs in front of the Indiana Statehouse which serves as the state capitol building. We then strolled a bit and checked out the lofty and elaborate Crown Plaza right by Union Station. Its a beautiful space, what with its mammoth stain glass and ornate trim. Anywho, we’ll be hanging with these two come November when they get married! Leah & John, thanks for meeting in Indy and I’m looking forward to your big day!
Oh and we’ve been having fun with our little Fujifilm Instax camera…check it out
