Mark and Christine’s wedding was beautiful. Their event took place at a lovely space in Chicago, Prairie Productions, which was FULL of natural light. We spent time with Mark and Christine before their wedding in an underpass off the beaten path and infront of a facade that graced Banksy street art. They had some really fun details at the reception that included an acapella group, a dessert truck and some pretty amazing vegetarian food, presented by MANA Food Bar. Of course, they danced the night away…

kasey & adam | rural philadelphia wedding

We had the privilege of flying out to Philadelphia to photograph Adam & Kasey’s rural Philadelphia wedding earlier this month. It was special for us, because we had met Adam & Kasey once at Jenna & Alex’s wedding (Jenna is Adam’s sister). Getting to work with the same family and see the some familiar guests made it all the more enjoyable to photograph their wedding day. What we loved about this wedding and Adam & Kasey was the obvious commitment to family and love along with the meaningful speeches and stories people shared. That’s what makes a wedding day beautiful. Their ceremony and reception was held at the Stonebrook Farm in Perkasie, PA and featured colorful bouquets & centerpieces and vintage glassware all within the rustic vibe of the barn. Dana Joy | Maternity

This weekend I was a part of a beautiful baby shower in Central Illinois for a dear friend. Dana and I met in high school and we happen to share the same birthday, which we have celebrated together multiple times throughout the years. When we were 16, we hosted an outdoor dinner party where we invited all of our friends, dressed up in prom dresses, ate yummy food, and twirled around like little girls in the nearby field under the stars. Dana moved to Colorado our junior year of high school but we shared many memories together and continued to stay in touch. We traveled to London for a summer, went hiking in Colorado, stood in each others weddings…and when we couldn’t see each other in person, Dana always dropped a letter in the mail. And now, after many exciting stages of life she is entering a new stage- her and her husband Kyle are expecting a baby boy.

The shower this weekend was FULL of lovely details, games, food and community. However, during the festivities we were able to sneak outside for a few minutes and take some portraits and these were what really stood out to me. Dana’s middle name is Joy and she truly embodies that word-Joy. She is a friend that always hopes for the best and aims to live fully in the present. These photos, although just a few, simply remind me how special Dana is and how she joyfully waits in anticipation for the gift to come… -Sharon

Natalia & Stephen | Costa Rica International Wedding | Intercontinental Hotel

Being a part of Natalia and Stephens wedding was an incredible gift for us. Not only did we get to escape from cold Chicago for a few days, we were able to experience an amazing family and network of friends, lots of yummy food, Spanish, and some new wedding traditions. The whole weekend was full of meaning and intentionality, something we value so highly. We will look back on this time with a lot of admiration and love for the people we spent time with and for the welcome we received. Natalia and Stephen….felicidades!
